Dear Everyone,

This weekend I will be traveling to Amish country to stay with my friend Nancy and her very traditional Amish family. I am very excited, I have a good feeling about it. I am doing this as part of my Service Learning Project for Multicultural studies class. I also have a service project for CAP class, but I am going to be working with SAFE in Hunterdon for that. Lot's of photography events coming up. My Aunt Renee's wedding, Mollie's mom's wedding, SAFE event, and a bunch more.

Only a couple of weeks still the gang starts coming back home, this will be a great winter.

In other news, I spent today going to school, getting my new lens (so good!), taking pictures of ice hockey that I can't upload (the lamp people have my card reader), visiting friends at bucks, going to Lamp, and finally, sitting at Borders from 5pm-9pm trying to fundraise for the Polish Exchange program. Overall, the night was not much of a success, but Tatum and Chloe and Mr Gorski made it very, very fun. Jenni and Dennis visited me, Dennis fell asleep, of course, and I took a bunch of pictures with the new lens. I'll put them up tomorrow.

I now have to go write a script for my 2 minute movie on pre-Taliban Afghanistan. Yay Asian studies. What kind of movie can I even make? I don't know. After school tomorrow I was supposed to go to the Mountain Goats concert, but that blew up in my face, and now I am probably going to edit pictures, clean off my computer, and try and buy some new jeans. How exciting.

Love,
Cayce Cliff

back to the old grind.

I had so many projects assigned in school today, wonderful. Robbie, Gabbie, and me are doing this project for multicultural studies and we are making some kind of tofu dish. it's going to be scrumptious.

The past weekend was better than I imagined it was going to be. I love friends. We did so many exciting things and had a bunch of partttays. fun fun!

Gah, I have no time to write this week. I just got back from the Kite Runner. It was really sweet! I took some pictures, but nothing really exciting. Movie theaters are not the brightest of places. I thought the Kite Runner was really good. There were a few things missing an a few parts in the beginning that were dragged out/not explained enough, but the ending was everything I imagined it to be! Go see it when it comes out!

I ordered a new lens and a 2gb memory card. Yes! Hopefully they will be here on time for my Amish trip this weekend. I am psyched.

I have to go read 100 pages of When Heaven and Earth Switched Places. Goodie.

giving thanks.

There are a million things to give thanks for. I can't list them all. Number one this year would probably be my friends (and family of course). But the past year has been better than any other time in my life. I wouldn't be anywhere if it wasn't for my friends, I probably wouldn't know what I was doing with my life, and I would be seriously unaware of so many things that are happening in our world.

Pictures in this blog were taken an hour ago at my aunt's house. The clouds are moving really fast. Reminds me of the Costa Rica when we stayed at cabins in Monteverde. We were so high up and the clouds were moving so so so fast. Speaking of Costa Rica, Hillary is here and she is sleeping at our house along with my aunt and uncle from upstate NY, and coming along with them is my cousin Mikey who's 8 and the two baby twins who are in a blog from last week. Should be an interesting night.

Maybe I'm being stupid or just a little sentimental.

Yesterday was definitely very good. We had a half day at school, afterwards I hung out at bucks with Jenni, Dennis, Mollie, Tulio, Lindsay, Marcos, Patrick, and probably a few more people. we then went to see a 3D movie and the 3D aspect was pretty sweet but the overall movie was terrible. Pat, Tulio and I got very very very lost on the way home and ended up in Langhorn (something like that), PA. We were yelling and panicking a little, but calmed down and decided to stop at a barbershop. They told us how to get home. We ate at East Tokyo where I got some delicious fried rice. So, we were standing in the parking lot and who drives by? Alex and Kyle! What good timing. We all headed over to the Mac's house. So, tons of people in the Mac's basement, as usual. Lots of Wii playing, zombie killing, and mountain goats singing.

Being with (almost) everyone is so good. Feels like summer. It's unreal how fast the time went. THREE months ago everyone was heading off to college and starting school. Wow. Scary, but amazing.

This morning I rode my bike into town. The Turkey Trot was going on, and there were more people than I can even describe. I turned a corner expecting to see the last few people in the race, but instead I saw a sea of people running towards me. Not an easy task on a bike. I saw a bunch of people I haven't seen in a while, and it was nice. I was happy to get back on my bike again. It's almost seventy degrees out, sweet!

So, it's Thanksgiving, but like the past few years, holidays haven't felt very special. I am going to my aunt's house in New Providence, NJ in a few hours. Not sure what's going on tonight, but it's really warm out and hopefully we will sleep at Hillary's and do some late night exploring :)

Where is Dennis? I do not know. He probably fell back to sleep.

11/20/2007

goose bumps.

Today was good, tomorrow is going to be better. I just got back from the ymca. Working out is nice. Tomorrow we have a really sweet presentation in Asian Studies. My group is amazing and we are going to do very well (I hope). Photos for today were taken a few hours ago. I love the nighttime. It's rather warm tonight. That in addition to the soaking ground caused some really strange foggy areas. I had to walk down Dennis's drive way in the fog in the dark. It's a long drive way. We went to Virami's for pizza. Yummy.

My dad is watching the news and I am in the other rooms listening to it. Ridiculous stuff. We finished Bowling for Columbine. I don't love it, but all the points that it addressed were very interesting and made me think a lot. Mollie says I have to watch Sicko. I will, eventually.

3D movie tomorrow with Jenni, Dennis, Tulio, Patrick, Lindsay and whoever else decides to join us. It should be pretty sweet.

Polish exchange meeting after school. I am psyched. It should be really fun. We are staying in Philly and Washington DC and NYC with them. They get here towards the end of April. Fun fun!

Work was blah, what else is new.

Mollie just showed me this, it's amazing.

I am really excited to see all my family. My cousins are amazing and i'll probably sleep at Hillary's house Thursday night, maybe. Late night grave-yard explorations! Yes!!

I have a lot to do. Why do I put things off? Eh, oh well. I procrastinate, but when I have a time limit I am actually able to get things done. It all works out in the end.

11/19/2007

I am really not sure anymore. People are unhappy and not being able to fix their misery is so difficult for me. I have a lot to say, I am not really good at expressing myself in words. It's hard. I can make it. You can make it.

and i turned up the heat.

Today it was very snowy. Supposedly the roads were really bad later on in the morning, but going to school they weren't horrible. In first block we watched Bowling for Columbine. Parts of America are unbelievable, sucks. In Asian studies we are doing these pretty awesome skits (at least for my group) and I need to act the part of an environmentalist from Bangladesh. We present Wednesday, should be pretty cool. Kite runner is next week. Yay, it's going to be crazy.

Everyone comes home in a few days. It wont be as good as summer, because this summer was the best ever, but I have a feeling that we are all going to have a ton of fun.

11/18/2007

the ground is gonna freeze.

It snowed today, nothing that stuck. Besides that it was chilly and dreary, very rainy.

I spend more time writing in this blog than I do on my homework. That might be a bad thing. Eh, I've got time.

Photoshoot today was really fun and really cold. Taking pictures is always good, and so is Country Griddle. Afterwards, went to bucks, went home, went back to bucks. Then went to Dennis's house and we watched Amélie. It was incredible. The filming was amazing and the story was so good. Watch it.

oh, and Bridge to Terabithia is so sad. Don't ever read the book or watch the movie. It is horribly depressing.

11/16/2007

baby it's cold outside.

I wish it was summer. I want to buy every travel guide book at Borders. I want to travel. School today was pretty boring, next week is short and Lindsay's birthday and many good things are going to happen.

I tried to make the Pops POP. Eh.

I am working at the Amish Market tomorrow and then leaving around three to go to the city! I am staying with the one Amish girl in a few weeks. Her family is very strict and no electricity! I am so psyched. I'll probably stay the entire weekend, Friday night, Saturday night and through the middle of the day on Sunday. Maybe go to their church like last time. I hope I can take pictures. This summer definitely doing a documentary on them.

I need to start doing more photo projects and teaching myself. No more wasting time.

Time to read a book for school. Either the Working Poor or When Heaven and Earth Switch Places. I also got another book from the library. Ay!

11/15/2007

deals

I love thrift shopping. Me, Dennis, Mollie and Dale went to Red, White and Blue today. It's an excellent store. I am not good at it though, I can't really ever find anything. The highlight of the store was the camera bag I found. It might not be a real camera bag but it sure looks like it. Space for my camera and all the lenses! It smells like smoke, but I aired it out and it's not too bad any more.
In other news, there are these crazy mushrooms growing in a planter that's in my house. My mom pointed them out to me the other day, so strange. They literally are flower shaped mushrooms. Pretty gross looking up close...

Tomorrow is work at One Stop, then right to work for the event for the studio. Woopie. Saturday I am working at the Amish so I can get some cash and then Saturday night I am going with my family to a play in the city. Sunday photo shoot with Ben and his band, probably.

11/14/2007

people of the plants

so i was walking around school taking pictures of radio shows and other random kids, like every other day, and i come across these crazy looking plant people. insanity! also, with inspiration from this website, i have decide to go on a small photo adventure each and every day. i'll post them on here.

11/13/2007

learn your facts

i am not sure what to write. i've just been real busy and can't wait for the weekend. My new first block class is definitely going to be much better than Fick's gym class, but unfortunately will have about 100000x the work, goodie...

Listening to the people in my class speak today about gay marriage was probably the most frustrating thing that i've had to sit through in a very, very long time. I don't understand how anyone in their right minds can say that there is no people who are advocating for gay rights (like a Martin Luther King for the Civil Rights movement). And yes, that is what someone said. Jesus, open your eyes people. There are people who struggle and fight against their governments each and everyday to try and get fair treatment. Gah. I can't even think about this without getting mad. People need to learn the real story and not make up bullshit to try and deny people of their rights.

So I got lost going to work today, I had to take crazy back roads because the road I usually take was closed. While driving home I almost hit a big buck, but thankfully i stopped quick enough and it just stood in front of my car. Stupid deer.

I would really like to just get out of this country for a while, a long while.

excitement

Everything is pretty much falling into place and I love it. I just know that whatever is going to happen within these next few weeks/beyond is going to be good. Hopefully!

This weekend I was in upstate New York from Friday-Today. I visited RIT and my relatives and cousin at Syracuse. It snowed on the way up. Lots of frost this morning, made for some pretty cool close up photos.

RIT was amazing, I think it might be my number one. Yeah, it is. The photo department was awesome, such amazing technology. Also, there is a huge population of deaf people up there and basically ever class room has an ASL interpreter. Perfect opportunity, I have been looking to getting back into signing. Going there and seeing all the people signing and remembering some of what I learned made me really happy. The ONLY downside that I can see so far is the freezing weather... eh. Oh well, they have underground tunnels connecting dorms and such.
This week should be fairly easy, I only switch one of my classes, from gym to contemporary american problems: violence and poverty. Sounds interesting. I need to do a paper for tomorrow, only needs to be a page I think. It counts for a substantial amount of my midterm though... fun fun.

11/08/2007

tofu soup

So, we have a long break. It's good. Not as good as Egypt, but good. I am leaving for Rochester tomorrow and checking out RIT!

So...last night was an interesting one, Lo Fatt Chow is a very good place to eat, a little creepy, but the tofu vegetable soup was mmm mmm good. My mom is now on a nutrition kick, we went to a lady who's been vegetarian for 35 years and she gave me yummy recipes.

It's cold. My hands freeze to the steering wheel whenever I drive. I need a winter jacket.

This guy driving in front of me the other day smashed into a deer. It flew into the air, not a pretty sight.

I found lens I want. Me and Jenni are going to the city next weekend to go on a camera shopping spree.

As much as I sweep Marcos's hair, it never stops. hahaha so worth it thou
gh.

Check out facebook, there are many interesting photos there.

winter weather

it's been chilly. i want to ride my bike to school but i just can't. the afternoons are crazy, sometimes. i stenciled and spray painted a sweet shirt yesterday, i am pretty psyched.

(photo from spain)

i am trying to go to japan to visit my cousin this summer, that would be so sweet.
if i were able to see any touristy attractions right this second, i would be at the Ta Phrom temple in Cambodia. it's outrageous.

one stop photo after school then i don't even know.
