I don't know whether I should be happy or sad about being back in Athens. We got the taste of being free from the constraints of a small town and school work and as always, it's difficult to return to a regimented schedule. Spring is going to be a great season and I can't wait to enjoy the outdoors. I wont see my friends or family for another two or so months, but I am anticipating a visit in late May. Spring break was great. Jim and I were able to cruise around New Jersey, New York City and Philadelphia. We rode in Philly's critical mass, enjoyed amazing food at Kingdom of Vegetarians Restaurant, went to Vegan Treats, took some quality photos around the big city, made some raspberry pies, had a nice tofu-bq with friends, and relaxed at my house.
I hope that I can return home at some point to see my little brother act alongside Nathan Lane and John Goodman in the Broadway play, Waiting for Godot, but it is iffy whether or not I can make it back to New Jersey on short notice. You should get out to the big city and see it for me!
It's the first day of the quarter, the two classes that I've had so far have been decent. My design class is going to go over well, I am sure of that, but I just need to get my creative mindset in gear. I have an Anthropology class Mondays and Wednesdays that is just under 2 hours and 30 minutes long. It's going to be an interesting class, but I feel that it may be a bit repetitive from my high school Multicultural Studies course. Tomorrow I have my Current World Problems class and Intro to Photojournalism, we'll see how they turn out!
Jimmy and I started the planning process for our road trip, we are plotting points, deciding destinations and itching for our 5 week adventure to begin. With warm weather, a not so difficult schedule, and spending time with friends, this Spring quarter should come to an end before we know it!
Pictures of our adventures to come!

I've felt a lot better the past few days. I've met some nice new people and started participating in activities that will help keep me happy. Prospects of returning to NJ are keeping my hopes high; three days until I am on a plane to Philly and four until Jim arrives there. I have a final tomorrow and 3 finals on Tuesday which begin at 8 am. I scheduled a tattoo appointment for spring break, oh my! Not sure if I should go through with it or not, I have a lens to buy for this upcoming quarter, bah.

Maps and pictures and thinking about the future are among the things that make me happiest. I need to get away for a little while. I think (know) that our trip to NJ for Spring Break will be a time to get all these worries out of my head. I regret not talking to my friends in far places more often, I regret not working harder in school and I regret leaving things for last minute. Less than four months remain until we are done with our first year of college. Fo' real?

We're going on a 5 week, cross-country exploration with our cameras in hand. It's going to be amazing. If you know of places to camp, weird roadside attractions, cool abandoned places, or delicious vegan restaurants then please do not hesitate to let us know!
We'll be sure to post a map and a tentative outline of our journey as soon as it is ready!
Ciao!
